Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called on federal lawmakers representing the state at the House of Representatives to see the development, peace, and stability of Ondo as a shared responsibility that requires collective commitment across political and governance structures.
The Governor made the call on Saturday while hosting all nine members of the House of Representatives from Ondo State to a strategic dinner meeting at the Government House in Akure.
The lawmakers in attendance were:

The high level engagement focused on strengthening collaboration between federal and state lawmakers to accelerate development projects, ensure political stability, and foster unity within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of upcoming party congresses.
Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of aligning federal and state development priorities to maximize the benefits of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the people of Ondo State. He noted that effective synergy between federal legislators and the state government remains critical to sustaining infrastructure development, social services delivery, and economic growth.
According to the Governor, his administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of the people and the development of the state above political considerations. He described the engagement with the federal lawmakers as a huge win for Ondo State, noting that such collaboration is essential to maintaining the momentum of peace, progress, and stability in the Sunshine State.
The Governor also briefed the lawmakers on activities lined up for the 50th anniversary of the creation of Ondo State, describing the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate unity, progress, and shared heritage.
In a notable political remark, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed satisfaction that all 12 National Assembly members (Senate and House of Representatives) and all 26 members of the Ondo State House of Assembly are now members of the APC, describing the development as unprecedented in the state’s political history.
The federal lawmakers, in their remarks, thanked the Governor for the invitation and commended his administration’s developmental strides across the state. They pledged loyalty and support to his government, promising to set aside political differences and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ondo State and the growth of the APC.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu; National Vice Chairman of the APC, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke; Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac; Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative and Party Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole; and APC chieftain, Prince Ademola Adegoroye.
The meeting underscored a renewed push for unity, strategic cooperation, and coordinated governance as Ondo State positions itself for sustained development under the Renewed Hope administration at the federal level.
