The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South West, Hon. D. I. Kekemeke, has declared Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the undisputed leader of the party in Ondo State.
Kekemeke made the assertion on Friday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where party leaders and members converged to deliberate on unity and direction ahead of future political engagements.
According to him, any attempt to challenge Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership within the party in Ondo State would amount to a direct challenge to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as the national leader of the APC.
“The leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State is Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa,” Kekemeke said. “Anyone who seeks to challenge Aiyedatiwa’s leadership position in the state would, by implication, also be challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the national leader of the APC.”
He further emphasized that alignment with the governor is a prerequisite for participation in the party’s governing philosophy at the state level.
“No individual can claim to be part of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Ondo State without aligning with Governor Aiyedatiwa,” he added.
Kekemeke’s remarks are widely seen as a strong endorsement of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s authority within the party structure in the state, as well as a call for cohesion among party stakeholders.
The meeting reportedly ended with appeals for unity, loyalty to party leadership, and collective support for the APC’s programmes at both the state and national levels.
