_Akure programme to focus on grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and Renewed Hope advocacy_

AKURE, ONDO STATE — The Asiwaju Media Team has announced plans to launch a major grassroots mobilisation initiative in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with a target of bringing together 9,000 voters and supporters at a proposed mobilisation and youth empowerment programme in Akure.

The programme, titled “Operation Renewed Hope 2027”, is being organised by the Asiwaju Media Team as part of its activities in support of the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots engagement, expand the team’s mobilisation structure across Ondo State and create a platform for interaction among voters, youths, political stakeholders and government representatives.

The proposed event is scheduled for August at 10:00 a.m. in Akure, Ondo State, with the organisers expecting participation from stakeholders across the state’s 18 local government areas.

A major component of the proposed programme is the mobilisation of 9,000 voters and supporters, which the organisers describe as a demonstration of their existing grassroots structure and their intention to establish a stronger network ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Asiwaju Media Team says its mobilisation strategy will extend beyond political gatherings to include voter sensitisation, community engagement, youth participation and communication of government policies and programmes.
The organisation also plans to use the occasion to engage stakeholders from both the federal and Ondo State levels.

The programme is also expected to place considerable emphasis on youth development.
The organisers say the initiative will promote digital skills, technology, media production and other forms of youth empowerment, with proposed areas including graphics design, photography, cinematography, video production, web development, social media management, digital marketing, information technology, cybersecurity awareness, journalism and communications.

The team says the objective is to provide young people with productive skills and opportunities while encouraging constructive participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.

The proposed mobilisation will also draw on the Asiwaju Media Team’s planned structure across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
The organisation explains its local coordinators and grassroots members will be expected to facilitate community level engagement, communicate information about government programmes and coordinate participation in political and civic activities.

The team describes the structure as part of its broader effort to establish a permanent grassroots communication and mobilisation network rather than relying solely on election period activities.

The organisers are also seeking the participation of political stakeholders, government representatives, community leaders, youth groups and other partners.
The programme is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the implementation and public communication of government programmes, grassroots participation and the role of young people in the country’s political process.

The Asiwaju Media Team, which identifies as pro Tinubu’s group, registered media platform and an APC registered support group, says its activities are intended to complement existing political and grassroots structures.

The organisation is also expected to use the programme to launch a support and funding platform for its activities, while seeking partnerships with individuals, organisations and stakeholders interested in youth development, grassroots mobilisation and civic engagement.

The organisers say financial support will be directed toward logistics, mobilisation, youth empowerment and the establishment of sustainable structures across the state and Nigeria in general

The proposed Akure programme represents an early attempt by the Asiwaju Media Team to build momentum for its 2027 political activities.
While the organisation is openly campaigning for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, its organisers say the proposed initiative will also focus on youth empowerment, grassroots communication, civic participation and engagement with government programmes.

The team’s stated theme for the initiative is “Mobilising the People, Empowering the Youth, Sustaining Renewed Hope.”

The organisers say further details concerning the exact venue, invited dignitaries, programme partners and participation arrangements will be communicated as preparations progress.

The proposed event is therefore being positioned as a major grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement gathering in Ondo State, with the organisers setting an ambitious target of 9,000 participants as they begin preparations for the 2027 electoral season.
